Præsto

A whiteboard
that can present.

An infinite canvas, continuous zoom, frames as the outline — and a presentation mode in which everyone sees exactly the same thing. Without a guest having to sign up.

The showing is a real talk that you enter as a guest. No video, no sign-up, no account.

A canvas without edges holding three named frames; a viewfinder travels from one to the next — that is how a talk runs in Præsto. OVERVIEW THE MATTER THE DETAIL Everyone sees this
Frames are named sections of a surface without edges. Their order is the talk.

Three ways to get to know it

All three start straight away, none asks for a credit card. In turn they cost you a click, a minute and an email address.

  • Present it yourself

The same board from the other side: you start straight in presentation mode and move on with the arrow keys. With speaker notes, a timer and the preview of what reaches the guest.

    Start the talk
  • Build it yourself

A finished board that belongs to you. Move things, draw frames, throw it all away. After an hour it is gone completely — nothing here can break.

    Open the board

Uploading your own files is switched off in the demos. Everything else is fully there.

What it is made for

Deliberately few features, but built to the end. The content should do the work, not the toolbar.

Showing

  • Continuous zoom

From the whole overview down to the single detail, perfectly smooth. Images are loaded at the resolution that matches the zoom level — the original only when you can actually see it.

  • Frames instead of slides

A frame is a named section of the board, and a frame may sit inside another. Their order is the talk. No export, no second file.

  • Guests without accounts

A link is enough. Every guest gets the frame fitted completely into their own window — from a phone held upright to a projector, everyone sees the same content.

  • Speaker notes

One text per frame, bottom left during the talk — with the elapsed time and the next frame. The notes never reach the guests’ browsers.

  • Pointer and preview

One key press, and a glowing dot shows everyone what is being talked about. Alongside it runs a mirror of what reaches the guest — at their window size.

  • Three degrees of guidance

Look around freely, guided with the option to break away, or strictly guided. In the guided modes the server holds the board back until the talk begins — it is not even in the guests’ browsers before that.

Building

  • PDFs come along

An uploaded PDF is split into pages, one per element. Your existing slides are on the board in a single go.

  • Images, video, text

Graphics are kept without loss, SVG stays vector, colour profiles travel with them. Videos play right on the canvas.

  • Websites as elements

Put a page straight onto the board, at the window width you want — from a large monitor down to a phone. During the talk it stays operable.

  • Aligning without fiddling

Edges and centres snap, a guide shows what to. Inside a frame you also get a type area and a grid; holding Alt suspends the snapping.

  • Templates and skeletons

A frame that worked becomes a template for everyone. Whole board skeletons — talk, client meeting, workshop, teaching unit — lay out the structure in one step.

  • History instead of worry

Earlier states can be viewed and brought back. Undo only takes back your own steps, never your colleague’s.

Together

  • Together, in real time

Several people on the same board, with visible pointers. Simultaneous changes are merged rather than overwritten.

  • Your appearance

House colours, two typefaces and your logo per organisation — right into the waiting screen your guests see before the start. Typefaces are fetched once and served from our own server afterwards.

  • Private until you share

A board belongs to you alone at first. The administration cannot see it either — what nobody has given it stays hidden from it.

  • German and English

The interface, error messages and emails follow the language of the recipient. The content of your boards stays as you wrote it.

  • With your fingers too

One finger pans, two zoom. A tablet is enough for watching as well as for rebuilding.

  • In the browser, nothing to install

Nothing to set up, nothing to update. Whoever has the link is in — on any device.

Where your content lives

A talk often holds more that is confidential than a file on your desk. So here is what actually happens — verifiable in the running application.

  • One server, in Germany, under our control. No foreign cloud, no object storage at third parties. Boards, images and videos live on the same machine as the application.
  • No tracker, no ad networks, no analytics. This page loads not a single script. The application sets exactly two cookies: one for the sign-in, one for a guest session.
  • No foreign fonts at runtime. Even Google Fonts you choose yourself are fetched once and served from our own server afterwards. While somebody is watching, no request goes outside.
  • Guided guests only get the board when it begins. The server enforces that, not the interface: before then the document is simply not delivered.
  • No training, no evaluation of your content. We do not look at your boards. Nor does the provider level through which we manage contracts.

Who it is for

  • Agencies and studios

Show drafts without pressing them into a slide deck first. After the meeting the board is still the working material.

  • Consulting and sales

One board per client, in your own appearance. The guest link goes out without anybody having to create an account.

  • Teaching and workshops

From the overview into the detail and back, without losing the thread. The included “teaching unit” skeleton sets the structure.

Plans

Every plan can do everything. They differ in the number of people and in storage — in nothing else. There is no feature waiting behind the larger plan.

  • Small

    €29 / month

    plus VAT, billed annually

    • 3 people
    • 10 GB of media
    • Unlimited guests
  • Large

    €199 / month

    plus VAT, billed annually

    • 30 people
    • 200 GB of media
    • Unlimited guests

People watching a talk never count — only those who build boards. Billed by invoice; more people or storage on request.

Common questions

What happens after the 14 days?

Nothing is deleted and nothing is charged. When the trial runs out you simply cannot create anything new — existing boards stay readable, editable and presentable. If you want to stay, write to us; if not, just stop.

Do my guests have to sign up?

No. A guest opens the link, gives a name so that you can see in the participant list who is in the room — and is in. No account, no confirmation email, no app.

Can I keep using my existing slides?

A PDF can be uploaded and is split into individual pages on import, one per element. You then arrange them the way a board allows — side by side rather than one after another. The text in them is an image afterwards and no longer searchable.

What if the network drops during the talk?

The guest keeps what has already loaded, and the view stays put. When the connection returns, they jump to the current frame. A talk is never reloaded automatically — not even when we ship a new version in the meantime.

Does this also run on our own server?

Technically yes — Præsto is a Docker set of application, database and web server, and a move is a matter of copying three volumes. Talk to us if that is an option for you.
